This October 30th our 3rd and 4th ESO students had a fantastic time celebrating Halloween while improving their English skills. The teacher organized a series of fun and engaging activities that allowed students to explore both the language and the culture associated with this spooky holiday.
One of the highlights was the use of “Stations” where students rotated through different learning experiences. Each station focused on a unique aspect of Halloween, from its history and traditions to vocabulary and phrases commonly used during this festive season. Students enjoyed learning about the origins of Halloween and the different ways people celebrate it around the world.
In addition to the stations, they watched videos that show Halloween stories and celebrations and the best: the real history of this tradition. These videos helped students improve their listening skills and understand the cultural significance of Halloween. They watched clips about Halloween costumes, decorations, and popular activities like trick-or-treating. After watching, students participated in discussions, sharing their thoughts and ideas in English, which boosted their confidence in speaking.
By the end of the session, our students had not only learned new vocabulary and phrases but also gained a deeper appreciation for the cultural aspects of Halloween. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to enhance their English skills while enjoying the festivities. We look forward to more exciting projects in the future that combine learning with cultural exploration!
