The I5 children have enjoyed a very fun and educational week in the English classroom, learning all about farm animals through songs, games and creative activities. By singing the traditional song “Old MacDonald Had a Farm”, they learned to recognise and name animals such as the cow, pig, horse, sheep, duck and chicken, while joyfully joining in with the animal sounds and participating with great enthusiasm.
One of the most exciting moments was the game “Find the animal!”.The classroom was transformed into a little farm where the children had to look for and touch the animals that the teacher named in English. This dynamic activity helped them practise listening skills, follow simple instructions, move around the space and work cooperatively with their classmates.
To complete the project, each child choose their favourite farm animal. First, they coloured a worksheet and learned to write the name of the animal they had selected, reinforcing vocabulary through both image and written word. Later, in the modelling clay activity, they created the same animal using their hands and imagination. Once finished, they proudly placed foam letters under their clay model to form the written name of the animal once again, consolidating learning in a tactile, visual and meaningful way.
The children were delighted to show their creations and use simple sentences such as “It’s a cow!” or “It’s a horse!”. Activities like these not only strengthen English vocabulary but also foster creativity, fine motor skills, curiosity and a love for learning languages in a natural and enjoyable environment.
